Dr. Makim received his medical education from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. His residency training was completed through the University of Michigan Health System’s orthopedic surgery residency program. Dr. Makim is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Makim is a member of the Michigan State Medical Society and the American Medical Society. His areas of special interest are sports medicine, knee and hip replacement, and fracture care.
