Directed by the region’s only fellowship-trained foot and ankle orthopedic surgeon, Dr. William Braaksma, this year’s 10k, 5k, and 1-mile Fun Run/Walk event includes a charity shoe drive. Bring one lightly worn pair of shoes to donate and enter into a raffle for a small gift.
Shoe donations will be accepted during pre-race packet pickup on Friday, August 11, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., at Orthopedic Associates of Port Huron. On Saturday, August 12, the 1-mile race will begin at 7:30 a.m., followed by the 5k and 10k races at 8:00 a.m. To register for the Fun Run, visit www.oaph.com/oa-fun-run.
“We are proud to continue the rich tradition of the Fun Run for the tenth year as part of our commitment to the health and wellness of our community,” says Dr. Braaksma. “We are also excited that this year’s event has an additional focus on social impact in our community through our first charity shoe drive.”
