The community fitness event offers a 1-mile run starting at 7:30 a.m. and a 10K and 5K walk-or-run starting at 8 a.m. at the practice location, 940 River Centre Drive. Dr. Steven Heithoff of Orthopedic Associates of Port Huron recently participated in the London marathon, completing the last of the original Abbot Major World Marathons.

The original Abbot Major World Marathons are Chicago, Boston, New York City, Berlin, and London. Dr. Heithoff has completed 12 marathons to date with plans for more. He will compete in Ironman Wisconsin and the Chicago marathon this fall and run the Boston marathon again next spring.

Dr. Steven Heithoff of Orthopedic Associates of Port Huron recently participated in and won his age division in the men’s sprint in the Latin American Triathlon Championships in Havana, Cuba.

Over 400 athletes from 32 different countries competed in this event. The sprint distance event consisted of a 750-meter swim, a 20-kilometer bike ride and a 5-kilometer run. In an independent ranking provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield, Orthopedic Associates of Port Huron ranks number one out of 243 orthopedic practices in the state for quality and cost assessments.
