Free Robotic Joint Replacement Seminar With Dr. William Braaksma June 8

Local orthopedic surgeon Dr. William Braaksma, of Orthopedic Associates of Port Huron, is a featured speaker at the free MAKOplasty seminar on June 8 at 5 p.m. The seminar will be at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Port Huron, located at 800 Harker St. During this seminar, Dr. Braaksma will share his experience and expertise related to this state-of-the-art procedure as well as explore the ins and outs of Mako robotic-assisted joint replacement. Patients seeking innovative, specialized care for chronic joint pain are encouraged to call 810-985-4900 to schedule an appointment at the practice’s office, located at 940 River Centre Drive.

“We are proud to offer access to educational resources so our patients can go into their procedure with confidence,” said Dr. Braaksma, a board-certified and dual-fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in adult hip and knee replacement surgery. “At Orthopedic Associates of Port Huron, we are dedicated to providing the most advanced treatment options available in addition to easy-to-access resources for our community.”

Like traditional approaches to knee replacement surgery, MAKOplasty knee replacement is used to treat degenerative knee conditions by replacing the damaged portions of the knee joint with a prosthetic joint, reducing overall knee pain and restoring function and mobility.

Dr. Braaksma received his medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit. He completed an internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Grand Rapids Medical Education Partners/Michigan State University in Grand Rapids. Later, he completed a foot and ankle fellowship at Harborview Medical Center/University of Washington as well as an adult hip and knee reconstruction surgery fellowship from Cleveland Clinic in Miami.
