All the staff was wonderful to her as it was a new scary environment for her. She did end up needing surgery and the doctor did a wonderful job...you can't even see the scar now. “After ten years of constant knee pain I decided it was time to put aside my fears of surgery and have the procedure done.  Dr. Makim was professional and caring before and after my surgery.  My surgery was two years ago and I had less pain immediately following the surgery and I'm still pain free! “I lead a pretty active life…I taught at Armada High School for 35 years, coached football and basketball, and am still coaching tennis today…but severe knee pain was really slowing me down. After all conservative measures were no longer working, I turned to OA for help. Dr. Scott Heithoff did a complete work-up and recommended total knee replacements. My first surgery was performed in 2003 and the other knee was replaced in 2005. I couldn’t be more satisfied. Dr. Scott is a tremendously skilled surgeon. He told me what to expect and was 100% on the mark both times. His easy personality put me at ease. OA’s physical therapy staff also played a huge role in my care. Their knowledge, encouragement and professionalism, along with the coordinated personal approach with Dr. Scott, got me back to playing tennis in just nine weeks after my first procedure. Within six months after my second knee replacement, I was playing tennis completely pain free and still do to this day. My advice to others, “Don’t wait until you can’t stand the pain.
