Fellowship-trained hand and upper extremity surgeon Mark A. Petrocelli, D.O., the newest member of Orthopedic Associates of Port Huron’s world-class team of hand providers, joined their team at the start of the new year. Dr. Petrocelli joins the existing hand team experts, fellowship-trained Steven J. Heithoff, D.O., F.A.O.A.O., and Amanda J. Whymer, RN, DNP, and together, they will use their combined knowledge, experience and expertise to assess, diagnose and treat hand injuries and conditions.
As a fellowship-trained hand and upper extremity surgeon, Dr. Petrocelli’s expertise includes a wide variety of advanced procedures and techniques to promptly and effectively diagnose and treat orthopedic injuries and conditions of the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. Offering nonsurgical and surgical treatment options, he specializes in arthroscopic surgery, fracture care, joint replacement and nerve repair.

After receiving his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Dr. Petrocelli completed an internship and orthopedic surgery residency at McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital in Lansing. Following his residency, Dr. Petrocelli underwent extensive specialty training by completing a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at The State University of New York at Buffalo in Amherst, New York.
Dr. Petrocelli is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, the American Osteopathic Association and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
